Baby Teeth Development: Canine Teeth First?

My baby is 8 months old. He has his 2 front bottom teeth already and has started to cut two teeth at the top. The question is, because he is cutting his canine teeth first before his two front teeth, is this a problem?

This is a serious question.

Baby Teeth Development: Canine Teeth First?
This is a serious question for your pediatrician, not for Yahoo Answers. Most babies get their two front bottom teeth and then the two front top, but I have seen babies get teeth in different orders. It is probably nothing to worry about, but defintely check with your pediatrician. It is possible to never have certain teeth, but I believe it is usually the canines that are missing. My cousin never had upper canines, and now has implants.
Reply:ITS NOT A PROBLEM AT ALL. EVERY BABY DEVELOPES DIFFERENTLY. DONT SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF!
Reply:My nephew got his k-9%26#039;s first . Its ok :)

Canine teeth before the Front Incisor -Baby?

MY 8 month olds first teeth were the two bottom front Incisor teeth, But now her top teeth instead of the top central Incisors, the Canine (or cuspid) are growing in. They even could possibly be the Lateral Incisors, it is hard to tell, Both sides on the top of her mouth, (she looks like a little Vampire...LOL). I have never seen this before, is this abnormal? Should I be concerned? Has anyone else went through this, Did the Front teeth come in? Should I be concerned?

Canine teeth before the Front Incisor -Baby?
I expect it to be no problem, some children will get some teeth sooner and others later, so I wouldn%26#039;t worry. You could take her in for a dental exam, but don%26#039;t think that they would be able to tell you anything more than I have and no x-rays would be taken at this point. The children I see rarely have missing baby teeth and the longer it takes for them to come t the less likely they are to get cavities.

This link will take you to a chart that give you more information - http://www.ada.org/public/topics/tooth_e...

And remember these dates are just a guideline.

Hope that helps!

Canine teeth out of place.?

My teeth fall out of line when it comes to my canine. It seems to me as thouy other teeth have pushed both of them forward. When i smile, the result leaves to them looking like vampire teeth. I cant smile because it looks really stupid. Normal ppl ahve teeth that go in a round oval but mine are so out of place. Is there any way of fixing this problem?

Canine teeth out of place.?
Braces (takes a long time), invisalign (very expensive), accelerated orthodontics (fast but hurts), porcelain veneers (costly but nice), tooth contouring %26amp; reshaping (instant and less expensive than veneers). Smile!
Reply:its called braces
Reply:you might need to get molars removed and braces? I had vampire teeth too (that%26#039;s exactly what I called them) but I got braces for a couple years and now my teeth are in line. consult an orthodontist and they will tell you what they can do for you, I%26#039;m sure you%26#039;re teeth can be fixed.
Reply:When it comes to our teeth we have what is called the dental arch, in people with perfect teeth all the teeth are within this arch. It is a common problem for the canine teeth to develop out of the arch, as they are at the point of the greatest curving in the arch. There is one very effective way of treating this - orthodontic work - i.e. get braces. The braces can help pull your canines back towards your other teeth, or to make space for the canines between your teeth. It is a time consuming process and can take anything from months to a couple of years, but in terms of what it could do for your appearance and confidence to smile, its worth it in the long run. go see your dentist ior a good orthodontist, and they will be able to adivse you further
Reply:Braces, Veneers, or Crowns. The later two choices must be done from canine to canine to look good. Aslo, if there is no decay or need for the crown other than an esthetic choice that is elective, the insurance wont help a dime.

Hope this helps.

Reply:The dentist. That%26#039;s really all i can say, I don%26#039;t have a picture or have any more details to give any advise. If it looks anything like what it sounds then the dentist would pull all the teeth that in the way and drill porcelain teeth in to replace them.

AAArrgh! Getting canine teeth pulled out?

Well, my canines sit high above my other teeth, and I%26#039;ve been on the NHS waiting list for orthadontal care. Anyway, my dentist said that it%26#039;s been left quite late and removing lower teeth to make room for canines is a bad idea. He said that I%26#039;d have to wear braces for well over two years and use a head brace at night times.

Basically, he%26#039;s implying that I have to have my canine teeth pulled, though I%26#039;m yet to see an ortho for a second opinion. Will my mouth look totally ridiculous if this happens? I%26#039;ve never heard of anyone having them extracted- only the teeth below them.

AAArrgh! Getting canine teeth pulled out?
definatly get a sencond opinion - iv%26#039;e worked in ortho for 3 years and have NEVER seen any patient required to have canine%26#039;s extracted...........upper and lower pre molars and molars yes but not canines.............
Reply:keep them ,look like heroine in south indian cinemas,.

Braces, upper canine teeth?

Hey,

My canine teeth on the top of my mouth are

shorter and higher up than the rest of my teeth.

My mom says they probably won%26#039;t grow down anymore, she%26#039;s a dental hygeinest.

I want braces, because

one) i want my teeth to look straighter and more adult

two) i want my canine teeth to come down and inline with the rest of my teeth

my mom says they might not even grown down with braces, but she%26#039;s not an orthodontist

But she also doesn%26#039;t want to pay for them

because we%26#039;re kind of short on money right now

My dentist said that it would be %26quot;ideal%26quot; to see and orthodontist or to get braces %26quot;if we had the money%26quot;

(he%26#039;s my mom%26#039;s boss, oh guess what, no dental plan...)

So i was wondering if anyone knows if braces will help me?

(oh by the way, i%26#039;m almost 15 and i lost my last baby tooth when i was 12, if that makes a difference with my teeth)

Braces, upper canine teeth?
i don%26#039;t see why your teeth wouldn%26#039;t come down with braces, braces do miraculous things.

I had hid canines like yours and they came down with braces within a week or 2.
Reply:my canines came down with braces. you could barely see them before braces, and within about a month, they started really moving. Braces do amazing things!!
Reply:One of my upper canine teeth was up high and out of line with my other teeth. If you have something like that, braces will definitely help (just got mine fixed). But if your canines are already in line with your other teeth, braces will not. I think a cosmetic dentist can do bonding or something like that to make your teeth look longer.

I couldn%26#039;t get braces when I was a teenager either b/c of money reasons, but when I grew up I got a good job with good ortho benefits and am in braces now at 33 years old. So it%26#039;s never too late. : ) Just keep them healthy and when you%26#039;re grown you can get them fixed.
Reply:Most cosmetic dentists and orthos will likely give you a %26quot;free consultation%26quot; and you would be able to find out the costs of fixing your canine teeth.

Most offices also have financing available, even for braces!

Canine teeth?

Does anyone know the ball park cost of a vet cleaning a dog%26#039;s teeth. My vet is charging over 200 dollars and this seems high to me.Anybody got some input? Thanks.

Canine teeth?
varies , my cats cost about 200 until i moved further north in ny and this vet charges half that, and only 35 a visit ! i assume you mean the full out put them under sedation remove plaque and polish not just a toothepaste cleaning.
Reply:I am not sure but you can do it yourself. Is it plauge?I would go to a groomer like petsmart and se ifthey would do it it woul probaly be alot cheaper, cause your not taking up a vets time.
Reply:yeah you can just get a baby tooth brush and ask your vet what kind of toothpaste would be the best to use ok?
Reply:um.. no it should only coast like $50
Reply:You can buy some Iams Tartar treats at the grocery store or pet store. Give one to your dog daily if it won%26#039;t let you brush it%26#039;s teeth.

Canine teeth?

Is it possible for my canine teeth to grow and become like fangs, if so how?

Canine teeth?
I don%26#039;t know If I can answer your question easily... The best source on all things to do with oral and maxillofacial surgery, as well as specialist dentistry, is to go to http://dentalimplantsaustralia.com . This site has all the best information on wisdom teeth, orthodontics, implant dentistry, as well as things to do with oral medicine, oral pathology, jaw correction surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, mucosal diseases, tumours, cysts, and reconstruction surgery. There are also other parts on post-operative care, medications, material types, as well as explanations on Medicare. It is an Australian site, but I highly recommend it for everyone.

Good luck with finding out what you are looking for!
Reply:No, our canines are slightly larger and longer than the rest of our dentition, but they cannot grow to a disproportionate size
